season one
She Echoes on the Vine
explores the journey of a dark-skinned Black woman working to understand the untold stories of her grandmother’s history to provide greater context, understanding, and strengthening of her own life experience through spiritually-based therapeutic interventions. This work taps into the contexture of Black identity, and the nuanced journey through Black mental health, so that dark-skinned Black women and girls will more authentically see themselves represented.
On this episode Ayesha Depay and Richelle Claiborne talk about the lived experience of Black women and how it plays out in the world of the play and how it relates to real life.
Derick Williams and Jamahl Garrison-Lowe discuss their characters and what they've learned from acting in Aiyana Marcus' She Echoes on the Vine.
